In a remote village, a mother gives birth to twins, Yuru and Asa, who are destined to become the “children who sunder day and night,” a pair said to possess a mysterious connection to powerful supernatural beings known as Daemons.
Sixteen years later, Yuru lives a peaceful life in an isolated mountain village, hunting and helping his neighbors.
His twin sister, Asa, however, is kept locked inside a wooden cell, performing a sacred duty for the village. Although Yuru finds her imprisonment strange, he accepts the elders’ explanation and promises to protect her no matter what.
However, the secluded village is hiding far more secrets than anyone is willing to reveal.
Everything changes when strange sounds cover the skies, and suddenly, helicopters and heavily armed soldiers descend on the village.
The peaceful setting erupts into chaos as the attackers massacre the villagers, including Asa, while searching for Yuru.
With the help of the mysterious trader Dera, Yuru escapes through hidden passages beneath the village.
Even more shocking is the appearance of a young woman who looks exactly like Asa, leaving Yuru confused about who his real sister actually is.
Following Dera’s instructions, Yuru unknowingly awakens the stone guardians known as Right and Left, revealing them to be his own Daemons.
The pair effortlessly destroy the enemy helicopters, forcing the attackers to retreat.
Yuru leaves behind the only home he has ever known, determined to uncover the truth about his sister, the village’s hidden past, and the extraordinary powers that now belong to him.
