Sakura is an energetic girl whose ordinary life is about to take a magical turn. She lives in Tomoeda with her father, Fujitaka, and her older brother, Toya.
Sakura seems like a typical schoolgirl, but everything changes when a strange sound coming from her father’s study leads her to discover a mysterious book that will change her destiny.
Curious about the unusual noise, Sakura enters the study and finds a book called “The Clow”, and inside she discovers a collection of mysterious cards.
The first card she encounters bears the name Windy, and fascinated by its appearance, Sakura reads the name aloud, accidentally triggering a magical reaction.
Suddenly, a powerful gust of wind suddenly sweeps through the room, scattering the cards and sending them flying away from the book.
Before Sakura can understand what has happened, a small, winged creature emerges from the book’s cover. Introducing himself as Cerberus, or Kero-chan, he explains that he has been entrusted with guarding the Clow Cards, magical creations belonging to the powerful sorcerer Clow Reed.
Unfortunately, Sakura’s accidental release of the cards has scattered them throughout the surrounding area, allowing their magic to escape into the world.
Kero explains that the cards possess extraordinary powers and can cause serious trouble if left uncontrolled. Since Sakura was the one who opened the book and released them, she must take responsibility for recovering them.
He appoints her as a Cardcaptor, entrusting her with the task of finding and capturing the missing cards before their magic causes further problems.
Sakura is understandably overwhelmed, she is not a trained magician, and the idea of hunting down mysterious magical cards sounds far more complicated than anything she has done before.
