Long ago, the Sirens appeared from another world and launched an assault on humanity’s oceans. Four major factions joined forces under the banner of Azur Lane: the Eagle Union, the Royal Navy, the Sakura Empire, and Iron Blood.
Together, they managed to push back their mysterious enemies. However, their victory did not last as a united alliance.
In a naval base, where Cleveland of the Eagle Union walks with Prince of Wales of the Royal Navy. They discuss the growing concerns surrounding Sakura Empire and Iron Blood, whose recent movements suggest that another conflict may be approaching.
Meanwhile, the base welcomes new arrivals: Illustrious, a Royal Navy aircraft carrier, and Unicorn, a shy light carrier who often hides behind her companions.
Away from the strategic discussions, Javelin, a cheerful Royal Navy destroyer, meets Unicorn and offers to help her find her missing companion, a little unicorn plushie. Laffey, an Eagle Union destroyer joins their search.
There, they encounter a mysterious girl wearing a dark cloak. Ayanami, a destroyer belonging to the Sakura Empire, who has secretly infiltrated the base.
Rather than treating her as an enemy, Javelin and the others approach her with friendly curiosity. Their brief encounter is surprisingly peaceful, and Ayanami disappears before the girls can learn much about her.
Ayanami soon reports back to Sakura Empire’s aircraft carriers, Akagi and Kaga. The two commanders launch a surprise assault against the Azur Lane base, sending aircraft and other forces into battle.
Prince of Wales orders the defenders to intercept the incoming attack, while Cleveland rushes into combat. The previously peaceful base quickly becomes a battlefield, forcing its residents to fight for their survival.
Just when the defenders seem to be losing ground, Enterprise of the Eagle Union finally enters the battle. The formidable aircraft carrier launches her fighters and swiftly changes the course of the fight.
