Two and a half years after leaving the Hidden Leaf Village to train with Jiraiya, Naruto returns older, stronger, and more determined than ever.
Deep inside a dark hideout, Naruto finally comes face-to-face with Sasuke. The encounter is tense and emotional and ends abruptly.
A reminder that Naruto’s ultimate goal remains unchanged: bringing Sasuke back to the Hidden Leaf Village.
Naruto has matured physically, he is taller, and he carries himself with a bit more confidence than before. However, Naruto remains unmistakably Naruto.
Meanwhile, back in Konoha, Sakura is no longer the uncertain young ninja. Having spent the past two and a half years training under Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage,
Sakura has developed both her medical ninjutsu and her physical strength, becoming a capable and respected ninja in her own right.
As Naruto walks through the familiar streets, here comes a wave of nostalgia. Several villagers recognize him immediately.
Unlike the lonely outcast from the beginning of the original series, Naruto now receives warm greetings from many of the people he encounters.
His first major reunion is with Konohamaru, who has grown considerably. Determined to prove that he has become stronger, Konohamaru challenges Naruto to a contest involving the Sexy Jutsu.
Soon afterward, Naruto reunites with Sakura. Naruto immediately comments on Sakura’s appearance, while Sakura reacts with a combination of affection and irritation.
Finally, Naruto visits Tsunade. As Hokage, Tsunade has been overseeing the village during Naruto’s absence. She welcomes him back warmly, expressing satisfaction with his growth while also recognizing that he still has much to learn.
Naruto has successfully returned to the place he has always considered home. Yet it is clear that this homecoming is only the beginning of a much larger story.
Naruto Shippuuden (NARUTO 疾風伝)
The second anime series, titled Naruto: Shippuden, was also produced by Pierrot and directed by Hayato Date, and serves as a direct sequel to the first Naruto anime series, corresponding to Part II of the manga. It debuted on TV Tokyo on February 15, 2007.
