Taiki attends high school at a track-oriented school, is a member of the boys’ badminton team, and although he trains daily, he is still an average athlete.
Chinatsu, on the other hand, seems to be the opposite; she is the star of the girls’ basketball team, is already recognized, and even the media writes about her bright future.
Every morning, Taiki meets Chinatsu at the time the gym opens, and it is not long before his admiration for her turns into a crush.
One day, while he is daydreaming, a teammate on the badminton team advises him to concentrate and forget about Chinatsu.
Later, Hina, a childhood friend, appears and shows him how much she has grown, and although he is not impressed, he listens to her crazy advice on how to get Chinatsu’s attention.
The next morning he regrets having listened to her, as he sees Chinatsu reading a book. Suddenly, she sneezes, and without thinking, Taiki comes over and starts offering her all kinds of cold-fighting products.
Chinatsu is amused to see him, and when he sneezes, she takes the scarf he lent her and wraps it around his neck as she thanks him.
As they enter the gym, she calls him by his name and suggests he not get sick. He asks her how she knows his name and Chinatsu tells him it’s because he has a good mother, who names his scarf after him.
Later, Taiki finds Chinatsu talking seriously with a trainer, and when Hina appears, she asks him why he’s spying on her.
Taiki gets upset with her and remembers that he forgot a towel, when he returns to the gym he sees Chinatsu and they both play and talk about their lives and aspirations.
At home, he discovers that his mother and Chinatsu’s mother met at school, and she tells him that her family plans to live abroad.
However, his luck changes when Chinatsu moves in with Taiki’s family.
