Once upon a time, Marlin was trusted herself way too much, and her struggle ended in tragedy. Despite her flaws, someone gave her a new chance, and now she doesn’t want anyone else to suffer the same fate in the future.
That same day, she met Lloyd and took care of him. With great discipline, Marlin began to mold the boy’s abilities, and to her surprise, he proved to be special.
After years of training, the boy knows how to use his magical powers, imitating Marlin, who is a heroine throughout the world.
The young man’s curiosity grows over time, to the point that he decides to venture into the city to learn more about it. To his surprise, he is immediately recruited to join a hero’s adventuring party.
But unlike other white mages, Lloyd doesn’t voice his commands; he simply imagines and casts them. Some sense what he’s doing, but the hero in particular believes Lloyd contributes nothing to his cause.
Eventually, Lloyd is dismissed, and a few days later, Yui, the leader of a group of S-class adventurers, appears, looking for a white mage to accompany them on a difficult mission.
Without much experience, Lloyd believes he has no skills, as the hero kept rubbing it in his face. But when Yui asks him for a simple spell to boost her attack, he dismisses it as insufficient and implements several more.
When Yui and the others experience his power, they can’t believe someone told him he was useless. What’s more, incredibly, Lloyd heals the white mage’s sister who had left the group, and was suffering from a practically incurable illness.
