Strangely enough, at 30 years old, Rick has decided to leave his job as an office worker at the adventurer’s guild.
His dream is none other than to become an adventurer, so he decides to leave everything behind and dedicate himself to train to achieve it.
He is lucky, or unlucky, to have the support of the team of adventurers known as Orichalcum Fist, who for years have been recognized as the most powerful.
Over the next two years, Rick has learned from them, and their methods have been unconventional, and even inhumane, bringing Rick to the brink of death on several occasions.
Such is the power of the Orichalcum Fist, that upon finishing his training Rick is told that he is ready to take the exam as an adventurer, but that he surely will not score very highly among the candidates.
With some concern, Rick hits the road and heads to the guild to register. As he begins to take the tests, he has little confidence in his abilities, but he unintentionally ends up overshadowing the rest.
When performing a strength test, they ask him not to hold back, and he ends up destroying part of the building, and when they test his defense level, the examiner ends up using a destructive power capable of destroying a town.
Despite this, Rick does not feel that he has performed well, especially when he compares it to the training he had with the Orichalcum Fist.
While they wait for the results, Freed, a boy who for many is considered a genius, comes up angry to complain for taking away his glory during the tests.
Rick doesn’t understand what he means and ends up offending the cocky boy, who later returns with his sister Angelica who challenges him to a duel.
Angelica has a high level, compared to other knights in the kingdom. Confident in her abilities, she tells him that whoever loses will become the other’s servant.
But when she confronts him, she discovers that she cannot defeat Rick, and when he decides to take the confrontation seriously he ends up destroying the place, while Angelica flees from the promise she had made.
