In this world, at the cost of losing an arm and a leg, a hero defeats the Demon King.
After several generations, some of his descendants are born with physical disabilities, and Kunon is blind. As the years pass, the boy lives depressed by what his relatives tell and lament.
But coming from a noble family, the boy shows great potential for magic, and when he thinks about it, he understands that perhaps with this power, he will one day be able to see.
Finally, he has found a reason to live, and he decides to do his best. He begins by studying the history of his kingdom, taking an interest in the flavors of its food, and even acknowledging that at his young age, he has treated his fiancée, Mirika, very badly.
With the help of his assistant Eccho and his teacher Jenny, he learns by leaps and bounds, and although his teacher is surprised, she is also somewhat dismayed.
As the days go by, Kunon maintains a strict practice schedule, and limited only by his energy, he begins to imagine his own magical variations.
Meanwhile, Mirika has been ordered to visit Kunon. She knows it’s her duty, but she doesn’t feel like doing it. After all, Kunon has always been a sad, not to mention boring, boy.
However, this time she’s surprised by Kunon’s energy, and even more so by his words. The two have a good time, and for the first time, Mirika tells him she had a lot of fun.
Days later, when Kunon picks up an apple, something happens, and he says he perceived the fruit’s color, which opens up infinite possibilities for him.
