Once, Coco’s mother took her to a festival, and while she was exploring, she found a witch who showed her some of her tricks and offered her a magic book, complete with a magic wand.
For Coco, it was the best purchase she could have made, but when her mother saw the book, she told her that only people with a special gift could use it.
Little by little, Coco came to understand, but that didn’t stop her from remaining obsessed with magic. Even in nature, there are places where it seems to exist.
One day, while hanging laundry, a carriage pulled by unicorns flew up in front of her mother’s house, where she worked as a seamstress.
At the door, Coco ran into a customer named Quifrey, who wasn’t in the carriage, but upon seeing that it was another customer, he offered to help her.
Quifrey observed Coco’s ease in marking the fabric, and even more so when he saw her precise cutting. And when he tells her it’s almost magic, Coco is touched.
When the other clients’ carriage breaks down, Quifrey tells them he’s a magician and that if they give him a room, he could help. Coco wants to see how the magician works, but he asks her to wait outside.
When the wind blows Coco’s clothes away, she climbed to retrieve them and unwittingly discovers that magic is simply a form of writing, and that her magic wand is actually a feather.
That night, she can’t wait and begins to draw what she sees in her book, but unknowingly unleashes a powerful spell. Quifrey returns to help her, but Coco’s mother is trapped.
To try to rescue her, Quifrey tells Coco that she must become a sorceress, or lose her life to keep the secret safe.
