One afternoon, Kazuya decides to go to the convenience store for food, but before he gets there, he hears the terrified screams of a couple of girls.
An assailant runs after them and has a dagger in his hand, Kazuya does not hesitate to get in the way and is seriously injured. While he loses his life, he is at least glad that he saved the girls.
Suddenly, he opens his eyes, and sees hands that are different from his own. He has reincarnated in the body of Cain von Silford, a boy from an aristocratic family.
Cain learns that in this world there is magic, and therefore, multiple opportunities. And also that since he is the last of the nobleman’s sons, that his inheritance will not be able to compare with that of his older brothers.
Cain doesn’t care about that, he is only interested in knowing how to use magic, and in the future being able to venture out into the world.
Thanks to his older sister, Reine, Cain begins to study magic, waiting for the day when he will be taken to the temple to be baptized and receive the blessing of one of the gods of this world.
Years later, Cain has seized his time and with dedication has learned to master some of his powers. Finally, the day of his baptism has arrived, and as soon as the ceremony begins, the place lights up and Cain appears before the gods.
These beings remind him of the way he died and tell him that his sacrifice in his previous life was in vain, and that without his help, those girls would have escaped unscathed in the attack.
To make up for it, all the gods give him their blessing, even deciding to multiply his powers like never before, hoping that Cain will become a hero when his help is required.
Back at home, while his family celebrates Cain’s christening, his father asks him to show her his statistics. Cain tries to hide the power from him, but having no clear reference, he ends up displaying immeasurable powers.
His father tells him that he must never display his statistics in public, or else he could be branded as a danger to the kingdom.
