In a fantasy world where a goddess bestows blessings or classes upon teenagers, Arel has finally reached the age to receive his.
Expectations are high; after all, Arel is the son of the “Sword Princess” Farah and the “Magic King” Leon. The day has finally arrived, but something is amiss. Despite having such incredible parents, Arel doesn’t seem to have received a blessing.
His parents and his sister Astaire aren’t worried, and they tell Arel he shouldn’t worry either. But in fact, he isn’t, and he knows he’ll have to work hard, and he’s perfectly content with that.
Even from a young age, he’s been trained by his parents, and Arel decides to continue what he’s been doing. For now, when he attends the training camp, some boys mock him for not receiving a blessing, and he simply confronts and defeats them with his skills.
At that moment, Reiner, the daughter of a skilled swordsman, appears and challenges Arel. The girl, mistaken for a boy, is furious that Arel’s mother is better than his father and is determined to prove her wrong.
Reiner possesses skills, and like Arel, has trained his entire life. The young man is cornered, and when she demonstrates her blessing, she defeats him.
From that moment on, Arel has a purpose and trains relentlessly, striving to emulate Reiner’s attacks.
One day, in the forest, Arel listens a scream and sees Reiner being attacked by a monster. Arel defeats it with a technique identical to Reiner’s, who can’t understand how someone without a blessing could imitate it.
Arel explains that he learned that attack thanks to her, but unlike her, he isn’t limited by a blessing.
(無職の英雄 別にスキルなんか要らなかったんだが)
