Allen prepared himself arduously to become a magician in the royal court; however, despite being a brilliant and dedicated student, he failed in his endeavor.
Although he doesn’t seem overly concerned, he is still confused about not getting what he wanted. But for the moment, what worries him is that he doesn’t have a job, so he goes to his teacher to ask for his support.
He’s also surprised that Allen didn’t pass his exams, but immediately has a job lined up for him, so Allen thinks something’s amiss.
With no other option, Allen accepts the job of tutoring the daughter of a powerful nobleman.
Upon arrival, he is greeted by the family’s butler, with a shy maid hiding behind him. Along the way, Allen notices that the girl’s accessories don’t match those of the servants, but rather Tina, whom he is to tutor.
Once established, Tina’s father explains the history of his family’s lineage and that, without an heir, his daughters are under pressure to achieve results.
Tina wants to enroll in magic school, but for some reason she isn’t able to use it, much less inherit the family’s power. Therefore, her father would prefer the young woman live her life differently.
Instead of promising an outcome, Allen asks Tina’s father to let her decide what to do with her life, and if she demonstrates magical abilities in the coming months, let Tina make her own decision.
