Long ago, a legendary hero faced the demon lord, and ended up defeating him.
Years later, society has been transformed, and although there is peace in the world, a very exclusive academy has been created in which the next heroes of the world are trained.
At the beginning of classes, a young man named Blade appears, whose goal is to make many friends and live an ordinary life.
Blade doesn’t hesitate to get close to other students, and it doesn’t take long for Blade to make new friends, but in the process he is interrupted by Earnest Flaming, a young woman known as the Empress.
Earnest is very strict in her behavior, and her powers place her as the best student in the academy. And seeing how Blade behaves, Earnest immediately doubts that he has the ability to become a hero.
Blade simply tells her that he is not interested in being a hero, that he just wants his life to be ordinary, surrounded by many friends. Hearing this, enrages Earnest.
Blade asks the girl to take him to the chairman of the academy office, which she reluctantly does, only to find out that the King is in charge of the academy, and that Blade greets him as if they were friends.
Again, Earnest is furious with Blade, when the King asks the girl to leave them alone so they can talk in private. The king asks Blade to regain his powers, though he just wants to have a little fun after fighting for so long.
Later, during advanced combat practice, Earnest accuses Blade of cheating his way into the academy, so she challenges him to demonstrate his skills.
Days later, Blade insists on reaching out to Earnest, whom he even considers a friend. On her side, she is usually isolated, since due to her character, everyone avoids disturbing her.
That night, Earnest loses concentration and a fearsome voice is heard coming from her mighty sword, demanding destruction and suffering.
Later, during her training, Earnest becomes much more agitated and aggressive, so Blade worries about her when he sees her in that state.
In those moments, Blade discovers that Earnest suffers from a curse, and although he wants to help her, the girl refuses to listen to him.
After investigating, Blade tells Earnest that her sword can grant her immense power, but that she must form a pact with it and harness its power.
With Blade’s support, Earnest accomplishes her mission, and they start a new life at the hero academy.
