From a very young age, Sae was the tallest girl in her class. During elementary school, she met Kouki, a shy and short boy at the time.
From the first day of school, Sae was very interested in school lunches, and Kouki was annoyed because he didn’t like milk. Sae offered to drink his milk if he didn’t like it, and from that moment on, the two became inseparable friends.
But with growth comes separation, and by the time they entered middle school, they no longer spent time together until the third year, when Sae began to feel insecure about her height and weight.
Meanwhile, Kouki gained a lot of confidence and is now taller than Sae. Even so, in her eyes, he remains that friend she admired every time she saw him working hard and having fun.
Now, Sae and Kouki greet each other with respect and a bit of distance, so she thinks she should stop thinking about him; after all, to the rest of the world, he’s a cool guy.
As a representative at the sports festival, Sae and Kouki reunite and begin sharing activities and reminiscing about the past. Kouki even brags to her that he can eat anything now and enjoys his lunch.
One afternoon, Kouki asks her which high school she’s applying to. Sae is quite studious and wants to get into a good school, and to her surprise, Kouki tells her he wants to go there too.
During the festival, all sorts of things happen, and Kouki even ends up looking for Sae when he’s assigned a challenge to find a cute girl, which surprises and delights Sae.
Months later, the two have graduated and are waiting for their high school entrance exam results, and of course, Sae and Kouki will be on the same class.
