Equipped with spears blessed by the Emperor, fourteen warriors enter enemy territory to end the war between Szaalenden and Wischtech.
Along the way, three of them lose their lives, and due to the danger and the dark magic of Wischtech, seven of the remaining eleven abandon the mission.
Despite this, the rest, including Ascheriit, the youngest, successfully complete their mission.
On their way back, the seven who abandoned the mission ambush them and decide to kill them.
Upon returning to Szaalenden, the seven corrupted warriors assure the Emperor that they had completed the mission and that they were forced to kill the four for betraying them.
From that moment on, they were hailed as heroes and nicknamed the Seven Heroes, while the four who died became symbols of betrayal and were nicknamed the Spears of Betrayal.
Years later, Ascheriit survived the massacre and now known as Köinzell, seeks to claim the heads of the true traitors, who over the years have become powerful nobles and continue to be acclaimed by the people.
But before achieving his goal, Köinzell must enter a walled foretress, where the corruption of the clerics prevails through terror.
There he meets Peepi, a young woman who has lost her family and seeks peace with the Seven Heroes, and Wied and Altea, who are dedicated to smuggling people across the border in exchange for money.
