In a world where some humans have super powers, Ikki Kurogane is known for being the worst. He and many talented fighters strive to become magical knights at one of the seven Mage Knight Academies in Japan.
To do so, they are meant to control their soul and materialize it into a weapon known as Blazer. Ikki can do it, but lacks magical power to become an elite student. But, since childhood, he has learnt the frustration of being weak, but that doesn’t mean he will give up anytime soon.
One day, Ikki returns to his apartment and finds a girl changing clothes, she is Stella Vermillion, an A-Rank student considered as a once in a lifetime genius. She is simply that good, but a bit arrogant.
He tries to apologize to Stella, but she ends up fired up -literally- as Ikki points out he didn’t see anything important. The director, Kurono Shinguuji, explains the situation and informs them they are now roommates.
For Stella, this is outrageous, but once the director tells her she can quit, she tries to put some unreasonable rules to Ikki. To settle down this matter, a duel will take place, and the winner will have complete control, basically making the loser a servant.
During the match, Ikki is able to see trough Stella’s abilities, she is powerful and talented, but has also worked really hard. He can’t back up now and puts his life in the line to strike Stella and reach victory.
Now, Stella has lost the fight, and as a princess, she has to sustain her word and become Ikki’s roommate, right?
