Ten years ago, several gates appeared around the world, connecting it to an alternate dimension. Behind each gate, overpowered creatures appeared and humans found out the conventional weapons did not harm them.
With those gates, humans began experiencing changes and some awakened powers.
Now, they are known as “hunters”, and are assigned to fight them. But not everyone is skilled or powerful enough, thus they were ranked from S to E.
Today, Park and Kim meet after some time and start catching up with their life. Kim ask Park why he is still participating in raids to kill monsters, and Park says he needs to make money to provide for his family.
Suddenly, a beat up Sung arrives and is greeted by everyone. Kim tells Park that Sung is one of the weakest hunters of all time, and is still admired for being tenacious.
Sung meets with Joohee, who questions why he looks terrible. Sung tells her that he was in a raid in an E-rank dungeon, and that his party had no healer.
Sung says he is used to being treated poorly because he’s weak. Joohee is worried and begins to tend his wounds before they depart to the dungeon.
Once there, Sung is having trouble defending himself against the dungeon’s magic beasts, and despite being able to collect some treasures, once again he is hurt. Joohee takes care of him while the rest continue to fight beasts.
Joohee thinks Sung shouldn’t continue pursuing the hunter lifestyle and reminds him about the injuries he has sustained. He apologizes and wishes he could have achieved, but he needs the money to take care of his mother.
Then, several hunters discover a cave out of their map, and it seems to lead to a new dungeon which might be filled with treasures.
The party leader suggests they should wait to hear from the Hunter’s Association before entering. But everyone is eager to enter and he asks everyone to vote on whether they should proceed or wait.
In the end, Sung’s vote decides they should enter the dungeon. Later, they notice that it looks different from others. They find an ancient scripture and as the party leader begins to read it something happens and the door closes.
Everyone’s concerned after witnessing the statues moving, one adventurer tries to get out and is killed immediately.
Sung wonders if they will be able to live another day.
