As an ice skater, Tsukasa has been quite lucky, despite having started at 14 years old, together with Hitomi, they have formed a good couple.
But skating is extremely complicated, costs a lot of money and the results do not reach everyone.
Now, he does not know if it is worth continuing to compete, while surviving in a part-time job at an ice rink in the city.
One day, after finishing his shift, he sees a little girl sneaking into the facilities, and asks her how she got in without paying.
The girl, Inori, gets scared and prefers to run away from the place. Tsukasa does not intend to let her escape and chases her.
Inori shows a lot of agility for her age, at one point she ends up climbing a wall, and when she falls, Tsukasa stops the blow with her face.
Inori stays with him, and when he recovers, he talks to her. Inori tells him that her mother won’t let her skate, and that in exchange for some worms to go fishing, the person in charge at the entrance lets her in.
Tsukasa tells her that at her age she has time to learn a lot, but that she must dare to tell her mother.
Although she is completely against it, Inori asks for a chance.
Meanwhile, Hitomi tries to convince Tsukasa not to give up on his career. But to keep going he should start training, and that she already has a proposal for him.
Inori’s mother arrives with her and Tsukasa is surprised to see her. Her mother tells the story of her eldest daughter, and the frustration and pain they suffered, and that she doesn’t want the same for Inori.
Inori tells her that nothing makes her happy, just skating. Upon hearing her, Tsukasa invites her to show her mother what she was able to learn on her own.
She is very happy, but insists that she doesn’t have permission. Tsukasa feels that the girl has potential, and tells her that if she lets her train with him, they will one day reach a national skating championship.
