Basically, Shozo and Ine have been together all their lives. The two tend to their orchard on a daily basis as they reminisces about their life together.
Shozo regrets never taking Ine on a honeymoon, and deep in emotion feels grateful that Ine continues to stand by his side.
Still, he is a bit remorseful that he never got to give her the life he believes she deserved.
As they walk, they recall an old apple tree, the first they planted and cared together. The old tree still stands, and somehow it shows a single golden apple.
The couple are amazed and they decide to eat the fruit.
The next morning, Shozo is still thinking about Ine and that he should do something for her. Suddenly, he sees a younger man in the mirror, and ends up surprised once he sees Ine being young again.
Despite such amazing transformation, the couple continue with their lives as usual, their routine remains the same and somehow, other elder members in their social group pay no attention to it.
Actually, they begin to take advantage as they prepare for their annual community sports day. Their team is able to defeat another one where an old love rival of Shozo invites her young grandchildren to beat them every year.
And about grandchildren, Ine and Shozo have one, Mino, who is immediately struck when she sees how handsome is, or was, her grandfather.
Their only son, Yoshiaki finds hard to believe the news when Mino tells him, however, he also finds it amazing, but has no problem living with the idea.
