As long as there is hope, we will find our way in this unpredictable life, however, 2023 has not been exactly the best of years. Turmoil continues due to a war, climate change is real and you can feel it burning, water is not available for everyone and food shortages might come sooner, rather than later.
Now, back in business, let’s talk about the Summer Anime Season 2023, which comes packed with new seasons for some old series.
However, we start with a shinny new anime, where Saku finds a stray cat and decides to keep him. In Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu, she names the cat Yukichi, and overnight, he becomes her housekeeping partner. Actually, he is taller than Saku, cooks and is proud of it, and is great hunting for sale items at the store.
Then comes Komura, a shy boy who enters the new school year with no enthusiasm. In Suki na Ko ga Megane o Wasureta, as soon as Komura takes a look at her new class neighbor, Mia, his heart skips a beat. Mia wears a pair of thick glasses, and it is not rare for her to forget them. As a good classmate, Komura will help Mia anyway she needs, but being so close to her is not easy for his young heart.
Meanwhile, in another world, Hart has reincarnated as a baby and left to die by his Royal parents, thinking he is powerless. In Jitsu wa Ore, Saikyou Deshita?, due to a little mistake by a Goddess, Hart seems too weak, however, he is actually quite strong, maybe the strongest in the world.
Later comes Ryza, an ordinary girl from an ordinary village. In Ryza no Atelier, she and her friends are eager to have their first adventure, and one summer, they all decide to sneak into the “island across the shore”, where they will meet more friends and all sort of creatures.
And if you are looking for a strange creature, meet Hakkon, who used to be a human and has reincarnated as a vending machine. In Jidouhanbaiki ni Umarekawatta Ore wa Meikyuu o Samayou, Hakkon loved vending machines, but now is living a strange adventure alongside Lammis, who is traveling inside a dragon infested dungeon.
Yet in another world, a frustrated pastry chef ends in the body of a 9 year old boy. In Okashi na Tensei, he still dreams on preparing the most delicious sweets, however, he also has to learn how to use magic and defend his village from bandits.
Back in our world, Shinosaki is being spoiled by his senior team member Shiori. In Uchi no Kaisha no Chiisai Senpai no Hanashi, Shiori is such a cute, loving, kind and small woman, always takes care of Shinosaki, and it makes him wonder if it could be love?
Back in time, ten years ago a hero named Max defeated the Demon Lord, leaving him in slumber, waiting to regain his power. In Lv1 Maou to One Room Yuusha, the time has come but his body returns in a small version. Despite his appearance, he decides to look after Max, and finds him out living in a dirty one room apartment.
In another world, there was another Demon Lord defeated by a legendary hero. In Eiyuu Kyoushitsu, the hero built Rosewood Academy, where heroes train to defend the world in the future. Earnest Flaming is the most talented student and one day she is asked to take care of Blade, a new transfer student with a lot of talent but no desire.
Then, we meet Pride Royal Ivy a girl with monstrous powers who suddenly recalls her past life as a teenager, and that she has reincarnated in her favorite video game. In Higeki no Genkyou to Naru Saikyou Gedou Last Boss Joou wa Tami no Tame ni Tsukushimasu, her future is meant to conquer and bring misery to all. Instead, she plans to use her power to save everyone.
Now, at times where AI is scaring more than one, in the near future, nearly 10% of the population are “humanoids”. In AI no Idenshi, humanoids are accepted in society, yet they suffer their own problems and Hikaru, is a doctor specializing on them.
In the meantime, at Academy Island, a transfer student named Hiroto has done the unexpected and defeated the strongest empress in a game. In Liar Liar, everything is settled through “games” waged for a certain number of stars, with the strongest student being granted the ranking of Seven Stars. Now, Hiroto must find a way to keep his position.
In another school, one filled with magic, Oliver and Nanao are meant to become comrades and rivals. In Nanatsu no Maken ga Shihai Suru, lurking within the academy’s halls are countless dangers and dark secrets guaranteed to threaten not only their friendship, but their lives.
Finally, back in our days, Akemitsu’s father states that no one can live alone, and he is determined to prove him wrong. In Tenpuru, one day he meets a young lady and leaves such a bad impression on him, after that, he decides to become a Buddhist monk and renounce worldly ways, just to end up in a temple full of impure women.
