Nick is an adventurer, and is part of a fairly recognized group. He does not hesitate to boast of his closeness to the leader, and that he also has his daughter as a girlfriend.
But all his happiness vanishes in an instant, when his father-in-law tells him that he must leave the group and find another way of life. Depressed, Nick goes to see his girlfriend, but as soon as she listens the news, she tells him it’s time to break up.
With no job, and no girlfriend, Nick ends up disillusioned, or rather disappointed in those he considered family.
In the middle of a storm, a young woman watches him in the distance and decides to get closer. She is an idol singer who is starting her career and wants to encourage him to watch her during a performance. Agate, is her name, and she hands him a ticket for her concert, telling him not to fail.
From then on, Nick discovers the idol world and becomes a fan. But in order to follow his favorite idol, he will need money, and decides to visit the adventurers’ guild and look after a new party to join.
Unsuccessfully, Nick decides to go to the tavern to have dinner, and when the place fills up, he is told that he will have to share his table with other diners.
Immediately, Nick realizes that he is sharing a table with a noble sorceress, a man who used to be a cleric and a dragon warrior.
To his surprise, everyone agrees that people cannot be trusted.
He discovers that the sorceress Tiana was betrayed by her fiancé, who could not accept that her girlfriend was more powerful than him. Even worse, he discredits her in the community and forces her to leave the school in which she was recognized as her best.
Zem was a simple cleric, with the ability to use healing spells, during his investigations, he used to require certain plants, and a young woman from the community supported him, as compensation, Zem used to gave her a coin.
But one day, the young woman hinted that she wanted to be treated like a grown woman. Zem thanked her for her feelings, but told her that he was dedicated to the church. Disgusted, the young woman informs the authorities that Zem had seduced her, and that she had even paid him. He ends up in jail and later exiled.
Finally, Curran is a proud warrior, who was deceived and robbed from a precious gem, which should accompany her throughout her life.
Between drinks, they all end up telling part of their disappointing lives, and the next day, Nick offers them to start a party of adventurers. They know themselves unable to trust others, but maybe they can trust each other from that moment on.
