After his parents divorced, Yuuta decides to live with his father, Taichi, and now in his second year of high school he receives the news that his father is planning to get married again.
For a moment, Yuuta is surprised, but he understands that his father has the right to remake his life and does not oppose it, although he is not very excited either.
Meanwhile, Taichi finally meets Saki, the daughter of his fiancée Akiko and, let’s say, he receives her approval.
Days later, Taichi asks Yuuta to accompany them to have dinner, this way they can all get to know each other and prepare to start their life together.
Yuuta is respectful, but somewhat uneasy when he meets Saki, who ends up being a few months older than him.
Neither of them has experience living in a family environment, and when Saki decides to talk to Yuuta alone, they both agree that the best thing they can do is interact, but not get too involved.
Actually, Saki’s first words seem a bit harsh, telling Yuuta that she doesn’t expect anything out from him, nor from their relationship as a family.
He doesn’t show any particular emotions, and simply accepts her terms.
Days later, Akiko and Saki begin moving into Taichi’s apartment. Saki had never had her own room, although due to Akiko’s night work, she basically hadn’t spent much time with her.
The change in life seems to be more drastic for Saki, who shows that she had had a lonely childhood. Yuuta is more independent, works almost every day and plans to attend college.
While Yuuta helps Saki put away her clothes, he discovers that they both attend the same school, and promises the girl that he will avoid making contact with her, so as not to make her uncomfortable.
